Are You Getting In Your Own Way?

In a presentation on September 10th, I’m going to explain what 10 years of research at
Harvard Medical School has taught me about what blocks you from maximum effectiveness
in your career and personal life. I will demonstrate an in-depth technique that will help
you take charge of your thoughts — the first step in the process that has helped my clients
rapidly achieve career promotions, business revenue growth, and confidence to make the
right next career move. You will identify ways you didn’t even know you were getting in
your own way in your career.
Said by clients to be “California closets for the mind,” “a slingshot for a humongous leap
forward in your career,” “a faster, deeper, better process than other coaching,” and a “life changing experience,” these ideas are sure to provoke more awareness of your own
approaches to career and happiness. That night I will let you know of a Fall workshop series I’m offering in which
you and your friends can experience this life changing process at a fraction of my consulting fees.
Bring friends and colleagues! RSVP required.
When: Monday September 10, 2007. 6:30 (promptly) - 8 :30 pm
Where: New York Seminar Center 71 W. 23rd Street I Suite 515 (just east of 6th avenue)
Cost: $15 appreciated donation at the door to defray room rental costs

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY, July 12, 2006 — The heart of New York’s old pickle district will beat again at the Sixth Annual New York City International Pickle Day Festival (Pickle Day) to be held Sunday, September 17, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Orchard Street Street in the Lower East Side. Co-sponsored by the NY Food Museum, the Lower East Side Business Improvement District (LES BID), the free multi-cultural event pays tribute to pickling traditions and the people who enjoy them with music, activities, and of course — free pickle samples. This year, expansion and development was sponsored by a major grant from Whole Foods Market, New York City.
“Thanks to the generous support of Whole Foods Market, this year we’re able to make new partnerships with cultural and community organizations — Just Food is joining in with a bigger home-canning demonstration and we hope to deepen the connection of culinary traditions with immigrant cultures,” says Nancy Ralph, NY Food Museum Director and event founder. “We are especially excited about teaming up with the new Orchard Street greenmarket.”
Each year, exhibits are expanded and updated, providing information on technique, recipes, and stories from home — whether home is in Malaysia or the Lower East Side. The pickle adventure is about more than cucumbers — it’s about the radishes, tomatoes, okra, cabbage, fish, meat, carrots, beans, onions, eggs, |
|
limes, mangos, peaches, beets — anything that gets preserved in brine. Children’s activities, vendors familiar and new, and the variety of free pickle samples bring to life pickling traditions from diverse American traditions and from the immigrant communities of India, Germany, Poland, China, Japan, Scandinavia, Korea, Vietnam, the Middle East, Africa.
This year will also feature new performances of music and theater and walking tours will welcome the curious with a different taste of the neighborhood. Pickle-themed books, and limited event merchandise will be sold, proceeds from which will be donated to the NY Food Museum.
Pickle Day is made possible by local sponsors and volunteers. You can support our efforts and participate by donating cash, staff or publicity.
“Pickle Day expresses the true character of the Lower East Side, the home of immigrants from Russia to the Caribbean, from Italy to Vietnam,” says Dara Lehon, Acting Director of the LES BID.
After all, few places beside the Lower East Side are better fit to host Pickle Day, where primary attractions are music, nightlife, garments, and pickles. |
